FRIDAY!! Woo-hoo!
You survived your first full week at DMS... and you did it in glorious fashion! All the 6th grade teachers are very excited about the fantastic group of students we have. It will be a great year!
AIM High on the bus was discussed in period 1. We had insightful ways that our positive attitudes, integrity, and our ways of making a difference can impact everyone on the bus. Then we got portfolio boxes moved to their "home" for this year; these will become important at student conferences. We revisited our Make a Difference articles about bullying and annotated ways to become upstanders. I know that some of what we discuss about bullying is raw and difficult to hear, but as I said in class, "There is nothing pretty about bullying." The way we can counteract those sad feeling about bullying stories is to go out and make a difference!
H/W: Read 25 minutes each day. Get your post-its out and mark those "jump-out" sentences! You will need them next week.
Enjoy your long weekend! :)
