Good afternoon~

Please look at previous posts to see ISTEP reminders. ISTEP is next Tues, Wed., Thurs.
You need two #2 pencils (no mechanical) and a calculator.

P. 1,4: Students finished their analysis of ISTEP writing by comparing their written responses to a "perfect score" response. After that we embarked on our "Courageous Character" unit by gaining some background knowledge about civil rights. Student watched a short video and made connection to the story in Jackie's Nine. 
H/W: Eight acuity assignments due Friday.

P. 2, 6: Students reviewed Wordmaster words 1-6 and made connections to previous words; every word had so many connections! These words will be a piece of cake! After that students worked in groups to complete charts related to "change" in the Persuasion book. We started "Hyla Brook" to see evidence of change in the poem.
H/W: Wordmaster words 7-12 due Friday. There will be a quiz on words 1-12 on Monday (this will include some analogies).

P. 5: Today students finished their ISTEP writing analysis, and then moved on to discussing the literature webs for the Robert Frost poems. After that, they picked out important vocab related to "change" and worked in groups to complete webs for the Persuasion unit.
H/W: Complete the vocab web words for tomorrow.
