Welcome Back!

I hope all parents and students had a relaxing spring break! Students did a good job today of trying to get back in the swing of things; I understand that  "rusty" feeling of transitioning to a regular schedule!

Our plans changed this morning, so students did not have the ISTEP practice test as scheduled. It looks like we will do this on Wed. Instead, students reviewed their Teen Activism papers that I graded over break. They reviewed my feedback and made a list of Research Writing Goals. After that, they revised some parts of their paper, and then they made sure those writing goals are being incorporated into their Teen Activist Informational Book. They met with their partners to plan strategies for finishing their next book chapter.

H/W: Finish chapter 2 for class tomorrow. I will check for two written chapters during class. Our plan is take a good look at those chapters and make a list of the options you can incorporate to make the chapters more informational.
**Remember: Don't waste you readers' time! Every picture, image, caption, graph, chart, and quote should be placed to enhance the readers' knowledge. Have a specific purpose for everything you add that is not text. Then it will be awesome.
