WELCOME BACK!

What a long brain break we had! As nice as it was to have time off with bonus days, it was so good to see all of you today! Thank you for being good listeners and getting right back to work.

P. 1,4: Today we continued with our poems that made a connection to Rules. It was a calm way to get our brains jump-started! We also went over the prewrite for the argument paper and reviewed the purpose and expectations for the paper. We are now on the conclusion.
H/W: Please complete the prewrite for the conclusion of your argument paper. This is the yellow paper. We will type tomorrow.

P. 2,6: Culture questions for Ties that Bind are graded and on Googledocs. Students went to the computer lab to write a summary of my comments posted on their paper. I want to make sure students actually read my comments instead of just checking the grade on HAC! This will help them prepare for Socratic. We also continued with poems.
H/W: Revise your papers to help you prepare for Socratic...do you have specific evidence?


P. 5: We continued presenting the poems related to POTM. Remember your poems because we will do a few per day. I introduced the culture questions that related to Red Glass. This will be a graded written assignment as well as a graded Socratic assignment. My intention is for most of the writing to be done in class.
