P. 1,4: Today we wrote a chapter summary for chapter 8 and discussed chapter 9. We are starting to see how the Vietnam War affected Uncle Vernon, even after 35 years. We are beginning to look closely at the figurative language the author uses, and we are analyzing what they author is saying about characters through these literary techniques.
H/W: Read chapter 10 and complete a figurative language analysis. Remember this includes the quote and page #, what is being compared, your interpretation, and an illustration.

P. 2, - Shared Poems of Apology today! Thanks to all of you who were so willing to share.

P. 5, 6: Discussed the last chapter read of RC, and then moved on to our fiction/nonfiction analysis with the Crusoe Island maps. Please make sure you have 15 nonfiction items (from the article) and 15 fiction (from the book). Get those colored pencils sharpened for class tomorrow!

H/W: P 2,6: Read chpt 7 of RC. If you did not finish the guiding question for chpt. 6, please finish that for class tomorrow.
